NIGERIA AND JONATHAN: RUDDERLESS JOURNEY?!

Recent events and a cursory layman’s review have

increasing security, combating unemployment, providing health

NIGERIA: MUST WE
LET THIS HOUSE FALL?
Nigeria is simply so divided that electoral democracy is
imperiled because we are all lost in and overwhelmed by extreme
sense of bitterness, hopelessness, mistrust and acrimony that
good sense is not prevailing anywhere. We are not even in a
position to frame, not to talk of debating our crisis with any
sense of objectivity...
HARD VIEW (No Compulsion In Religion)

JONATHAN IS FAILING!!
Jonathan’s May 29th speech was an ode to incompetence.
The accomplishments claimed in that speech were pathetic
admissions of the lack of vision and direction in
Nigeria’s leadership. The content of the speech and the
premise upon which it was based are an indictment of
government and the process of governance in Nigeria...

FOR WANT OF GODFATHER (1)
By the end of February this year, Dr M. Waziri Dogo-Muhammad,
then Executive Secretary of National Health Insurance Scheme had
just finished a very successful first tenure and everyone was
expecting his confirmation for the second when he was removed....
The Constitution does not contemplate
that a President should enjoy an extra day outside his four
years tenure. Jonathan has four year tenure, 2011-2015. Jonathan
had served for one year before he took Oath on winning the 2011
election. If we add this one year together with four years of
his present term, it means that at the end of his present tenure
he would have been President for FIVE YEARS. Assuming Jonathan
contest and wins in 2015, he would have served as President for
This is more than the EIGHT YEARS
prescribed for a President who has won election twice. It is
unconstitutional and illegal for a President to be in office
more than what is prescribed by the Constitution. The
Constitution does not contemplate that a President will be in
office more than eight years at most. There is no tenure
elongation under any guise. The Supreme Court except under
extraordinary circumstances will never depart from the PRINCIPLE
it has laid down in the GOVERNORS' case. Jonathan has obviously
found himself in a legal quagmire which only the Court will
entangles come 2015. Jonathan cannot eat his cake and have it.
The only legacy he can leave is to carry out comprehensive and
far reaching electoral reform to usher in a FREE, FAIR &
TRANSPARENT ELECTION in 2015. He should shun the advice and
advocacy of sycophants and ethnic champions such as EDWIN CLARK.
When Clark is talking about NIGER DELTA or SOUTH/SOUTH he is
only thinking about his IJAW ETHNIC nationality.
DISCOURSE 344: BUHARI Vs PDP; THE DOG AND
THE BABOON 2015 PARABLE
Tomorrow, President Goodluck Jonathan will have spent one
full year of his four-year mandate, and,
unless you do not live in Nigeria or
you live in Dokubo-Asari’s or Edwin Clark’s make-believe
Nigeria, the report card should be pretty straightforward:
President Jonathan’s first year has been a total disaster
and a complete failure.
A fight between the dog and the baboon must be one of
those very rare encounters in the Animal Kingdom. Animals fight
over territory, food, mates, and in defence of their lives, or
of the young. It is very hard to foresee the two animals
fighting over any of the above because on most of items, the
paths of the two animals hardly cross....

THE HISTORY OF THE
The Fulani Empire of Sokoto was the last of the five great empires that rose and fell in the Sudan between the eighth and twentieth centuries. It was founded by three men of the same family, and it developed a society which, in its heyday, was perhaps better governed and more highly civilized than any other that Africans had until then evolved
